Product Summary

Cat. No.
ABS 006-24
Specificity
ABS 006-24 is specific for native human PAPP-A. Heat and SDS denatured PAPP-A is also recognized, but not acid treated PAPP-A.
Immunogen
Purified human PAPP-A
Host
Mouse
Positive Species Reactivity
Human
Negative Species Reactivity
Not determined
Isotype
IgG1/k
Gene ID
5069
Clone Number
PAPP A 1-24
Epitope Specificity
The epitope of ABS 006-24 is different from BTE 004-09 and ABS 006-01. The epitope is located on the PAPP-A subunit of the heterotetramer.
Unit Size
400 µL: Cat. No. ABS 006-24-04 1 mL: Cat. No. ABS 006-24-1 1 mg/mL +/- 15%. See Certificate of Analysis for details.
Purification
Protein A/G purified (from culture supernatant)
Form
Liquid
Solvent
0.01 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, containing 0.5 M NaCl and 15 mM sodium azide
Conjugation
Unconjugated BSA free
Storage
4-8ºC without exposure to light. No precautions necessary during handling.
Target
Pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A, Insulin-like growth factor binding protein-4 protease, PAPP-A-proMBP complex) is a large heterotetrameric glycoprotein of approximately 500 kDa, which was first discovered in serum from pregnant women. The hetreotetramer consists of two PAPP-A subunits and two proMBP subunits. Low maternal serum levels of PAPP-A in first trimester biochemical screening is used as a marker of Down’s syndrome (trisomy 21).

Application

ELISA: BTE 004-09 as coating antibody and biotinylated ABS 006-24 as a detection antibody is a good combination for sandwich ELISA.

WB: ABS 006-24 only detects unreduced PAPP-A in Western blotting.

IHC: ABS 006-24 gives the strongest signal in IHC compared to ABS 006-01 and BTE 004-09.

Immunohistochemical staining of a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded placental tissue with ABS 006-24.
