Target

β-2 microglobulin (β2M) is a 12-14 kDa subunit of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I. β2M is a non-polymorphic molecule and is not involved in peptide binding but is essential for MHC assembly. β2M is also found in free form in the plasma. MHC class I is expressed on most nucleated cells in the caiman, including the red blood cells.
